Raipur, // Shooter and Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, who made history by winning two medals in shooting at the Paris Olympics, has arrived in Raipur to attend the closing ceremony of the 27th All India Forest Sports Competition 2024. On Sunday, she visited the renowned Barnawapara Sanctuary in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district with her family.
During her visit, Bhaker expressed her delight at witnessing the lush forests and the diverse wildlife in the sanctuary. She praised the efforts of the Forest Department in wildlife conservation and promotion. “Coming from Delhi, this has been an incredible experience,” she remarked. “It highlights the importance of nature and the necessity of forest conservation. The ecosystem here is remarkably well-maintained, making this visit unforgettable. I would love to return.”
Officials present during the visit were Shri Raju Agasimaani, Chief Forest Conservator; Shri Mayank Agarwal, Forest Divisional Officer of Balodabazar; Shri Anand Kudraya, Superintendent of Barnawapara Sanctuary; and the dedicated staff of the sanctuary.
